Internal shear panels are bonded to the underside of the top cover panel.
Shear panel being set in place.
There are 14 shear panels in each module. The shear panels transfer the berthing loads to the pier and keep the rectangular module rigid.
Molded panels to be bonded in the module.
Once the shear panels are assembled to the top cover panel, the long edge panels complete the module box.
Because the modules are assembled upside down, they must be flipped for fitting and shipment.
During flipping, the non-slip surface of the top cover panel can be seen.
Modules are trial assembled before shipment.
The individual modules are loaded onto a truck; ready for the final assembly at the shipyard.
FRP Composite Camels
Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) composite material’s ability to resist corrosion in a harsh saltwater environment make it an attractive option for replacing traditional steel and wood structures to eliminate high maintenance and replacement costs.
