Marine Fenders Ship

What’s between you and your ship? Protecting your assets may boil down to the product you are using to shield your vessels from damage while berthed at a pier or wharf.

Our fiber-reinforced polymer composite HarborCamels have the strength and stiffness properties required to dissipate berthing forces along their length. These log camels eliminate load concentrations on hulls and pier pilings as well. A fiberglass core contributes to mechanical strength along with the FRP inner wall which is designed to absorb the radial compression a vessel generates. Wall thicknesses can vary depending on ship size.  An HDPE outer skin makes the camel abrasion-resistant. Once the pipe is filled with foam and sealed, it can be fitted with a choice of attachments for mooring to the pier. The log camel is designed to float alongside the pier.

HarborCamels are available in diameters of 16 in. to 42 in. and lengths up to 75 ft. The product typically floats with a 50 percent freeboard. HarborCamels are also UV resistant. By combining performance with minimal maintenance, the FRP product offers a long life cycle.

Custom camels for protecting commercial vessels at ports are available. These separators use high-strength fiberglass and internal foam flotation for maximum corrosion resistance and long life.
