TuffSpan Certifications & Approvals

Certifications, Approvals and Ratings for the 12 x 1.25R Series 150 Roofing and Siding Panels:
  • Florida Building Code Approval
  • UL Class 90 Rating
  • Texas (TDI) Windstorm Approval

The UL Class 90 rating involved UL 580 uplift testing, which required withstanding pressure differential of 105 psf, including positive pressure of 48.5 psf combined with negative pressure of 56.5 psf. These certifications will increase code compliance and usage for this product commonly used for daylighting in metal buildings.

Certifications, Approvals and Ratings for TuffSpan Wall Assembly:
  • CAN/ULCS-134 Full-Scale Exterior Wall Fire Test (Canada's equivalent to NFPA 285)
  • Section 3.1.5.5. of NBC 2010 Compliance
  • FM-Approval for the TuffSpan wall assembly, which is the first FRP profiled building panel on the market to pass this certification

  •  TuffSpan FRP roof deck can be secured with both mechanical and adhesive options. 

  • Although similar in strength and corrosion resistance, the main difference between TuffSpan daylighting panels (LC2) and TuffSpan industrial grade panels (PFR/FM) is the flame spread rating. Our PFR/FM grade material carries a Class 1 flame spread rating whereas our daylighting panels have a CC2 rating.
  • TuffSpan roofing panels should meet a minimum deflection of L/60 with moment factor of safety of 2.5 for positive loads and moment/pullover factor of safety of 1.88 for negative loads.

    TuffSpan siding panels should meet a minimum deflection of L/30 and moment/pullover factor of safety of 1.88 for positive or negative loads.
