Alum Bank, Pennsylvania, October 8, 2025 – Creative Composites Group (CCG), a consortium of the leading manufacturers of Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) composite infrastructural and building products, has expanded its utility offering with TridentStrong™ pultruded poles. This expanded portfolio offers a broader pole capacity (kV) and is suitable for self-supporting installations.
TridentStrong poles are available in both single-layer and multi-layer designs. The multi-layer design nests numerous single-layer poles to create an ultra-sturdy yet flexible pole that is strong enough to be installed without the aid of guy wires—ideal for corners and dead ends. These self-supporting poles may be installed by direct embedment in majority of cases and can handle voltages of up to 138 kV. The multi-layer TridentStrong poles have a smaller diameter at groundline than many spun fiberglass alternatives and are delivered to sites as a single piece with groundlines pre-installed for added security and convenience. Each pole is produced in Houston, Texas, and then is numbered and tied to a traceability report to ensure maximum quality and service.
“The TridentStrong pole brings something special to the market,” said Ted Fotos, Trident Industries President, CCG. “The design is simple, but we achieve great results with that simple design. Our customers have been very happy, especially with self-supported installs.”
CCG’s FRP utility poles fill an important gap in the domestic utility market, providing strength, resilience and longevity with minimal supply disruptions. CCG’s StormStrong poles serve distribution to low sub-transmission voltages (34.5 to 69 kV). The 2024 acquisition of Trident Industries has allowed CCG to expand its FRP utility pole products into the sub-transmission voltages essential to carrying power from high-voltage transmission lines down to low-voltage distribution systems. Both StormStrong and TridentStrong poles have shown their grid-strengthening capabilities as the U.S. experiences increasingly frequent and intense storms.
TridentStrong poles also deliver the same qualities that customers expect from other CCG composite poles: an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, the flexibility and strength to bend in a storm without breaking and return to its original shape and position, inherent corrosion resistance without the need for chemical treatments that can leach into groundwater and high dielectric strength.
“TridentStrong is an important addition to Creative Composites Group’s product line-up,” said Dustin Troutman, CSO. “Trident’s layering technology has allowed us to reach beyond distribution into sub-transmission classes to help our customers harden their parts of the grid in a long-lasting, resilient way.
